Happy Valley 16th December

A nice Wednesday card and three races pinpointed as betting prospects. Two winners and a fast finishing second in race 5 by Amazing Feeling saw us have a good night and return to the winners list. Probably pulled the pin a little early as I had Strong Foundation and Ten Flames on top also. Both saluted later in the card. Rated 5 races, published three markets. Four winners and a neck second (unlucky). The two later ones  mentioned above I needed to watch the market, marginal on price.  Everyone's in bed in Oz, so I don't want to advise those early #burnedbefore. The worm has turned. Still bullish about Hong Kong this season.

Footnote: I rated Sir John in Race 6 a $16 chance, kept coming back to one speed figure. Ran third at $200, $26 the place.

Race Summary

Race 3

Alerted Hella Hedge early at$3.4 (rated $3.1) it SP'd at $2.15. Always nice to be on a solid firmer in the market.and all indicators were it would jump from gate one and lead all the way. Silver Gatsby had other ideas and harassed hella hedge for the lead before the jockey on Hella took a sit. Not ideal. Hella Hedge showed good fight and drove through late to claim the prize and get HKSpeedKing followers off to a good start. Our Second rated horse Golden Chopsticks got second and was also an overlay, no bet was advised. Our other advised bet at good odds ($10+ at advice) was Who'sthedude who ran an improved race for third.

Race 4

I fancied Towering Storm. Good recent figures, a recent change to the O'Sullivan barn and Moreira up all pointed to a good showing. Rated at $2.20 we were licking our lips as the price got out to $3.80 and paid an incredible $5.20 with UBet. Out other bet, third rated Rouge Et Blanc ran well for third.

Race 5

I was pretty keen on Amazing Feeling at its second start It looked to have class on this lot. Unfortunately Diamond Master got away with a cheap lead and Amazing Feeling flew to go down a neck after getting a long way off the pace. A good night all in all.
