50% Strike Rate - 4 from 8
A new way to bet the HKSPeedKing ratings
Janauary 8th was an All Weather night meeting at Sha Tin.
Subscribers to the ratings frequently ask me how they should 'bet the ratings'. The truth is, there's no simple answer. Some of us can bet fixed odds, some citibet and others can only bet on the HK tote.
The ranking of runners is still arrived at in the same way. Speed, class, sectional times and many other variables contribute to the computation of the final rating. We rated all 8 races finding 4 winners with our revised approach. Had we bet KPI's there would have been one bet for the night, Born Dragon the winner of Race 1.
Three races were betting races based on the calculator's assessment of the prices available. Highlights were:
- Sweet Bean at $18 fixed
- I'm The Won For You at $9.
Sky King and Vanilla ranked on top for class and were very close to bets. Hindsight 20-20 vision.
The KPI bets continue to perform well, but I have been looking for a way to have a stake in more races and increase turnover.
See the new bet calculator here www.zdata.com.au/calculator/ , it uses a TARGETED PROFIT Dutch staking APPROACH.
Historically HKSPeedKing top 3 raters win 48% of the time so this is the way forward for my punting in HK. There's simply not enough viable betting races waiting for KPI's. sometimes there's only one or none on a race card.

If you have been thinking about using the ratings, now is a good time to hop aboard. No ongoing financial commitment.
- $AUD 35 for one meeting $3-$ a race!
- $AUD 90 for 2 weeks (usually 4 meetings)
Why charge a sub at all?
A Sha Tin Meeting takes me 15-20 hours to analyse properly. The database requires constant upkeep and improvement. I will keep the price as low as I can for as long as I can.
